On behalf of OASIS-Operation America Standing In Support, congratulations to Bailey Hill from Astronaut High School JROTC and Griffin Smith from Satellite Beach High School AFJROTC.

From Bailey:

“That every young adult faces of what path to take, I chose the path of service. I chose the path of serving my country, the one that I had grown to love and be a product citizen of. I am scheduled to ship out to the Marine Corps basic training in October of 2020 with hopes of becoming a military police officer. I will be enlisted as an E2, Private First Class, thanks to my 2 years of JROTC. I am passionate about the journey that is just ahead of me. I plan on making the very best of it, I want to travel the world, see its beauty. I want to be part of changing the world. I’m certain that I would have never had such a desire to serve my country if it weren’t for valuable life lessons I learned in my two years spent in JROTC. I can be nothing but thankful for how JROTC changed my life and use the leadership qualities and life lessons I learned to accomplish my goals, change the world, and to serve. I would love to be awarded this scholarship to give me the resources I need to continue to serve my community and give back to what helped me grow into the young woman I have become today. My goal is to be an inspiration to other young men and women who love their country as I do and have a desire to serve.”

From Griffin:

“When I enrolled in AFJROTC in 9th grade, I had no idea of my potential for leadership. Over the next few years I quickly advanced in rank and was selected Corps Commander in my senior year where I led over 120 cadets. The leadership skills I learned in AFJROTC helped me to become a leader on my high school lacrosse team where I was captain my junior and senior year. I have over 200 volunteer hours including assisting elderly vets. In the Fall I will be attending Brown University on an AFROTC scholarship and plan to attend medical school.”
